Hi King fan! Well, it's been a funny week for me this week. However, the weekend just gone has given me one of my favorite memories I will treasure forever.
This weekend I got up stupidly early, waddled my way along to my Frisbee Captain's house, all my equipment piled high on my back, and then drove to Bristol in order to attend a Frisbee training session.
When we got there, it was freezing, (naturally because, you know, snow!). Anyway, after we managed to wiggle the car into a snug parking space and performed all the necessary acrobatics in order to actually extract ourselves from the car, we hurried over (ten minutes late) to the training session, quietly (okay maybe not so quietly) complaining about the state of the weather as we went. We pulled on our football boots and got to playing, running around in order to keep from freezing to the spot.
The training session was a complete blast! The wind was playing tricks on all of the throws, so there was a lot of yelling 'heads!' and people dropping to the ground unsure which direction the flying plastic disc was coming in. When it got to lunch time, it was just too cold to sit around outside and eat, so the five of us all went and got back inside Captain's car, munching on our sandwiches as we tried to warm ourselves. up
When the session ended in the evening, we all bundled our muddy, frozen and slightly damp selves back into the car and set off south, heading for home. We stopped for junk food, so we all had something warm to eat, and all five of us feeling some how energized even after the five hours of intense frisbee.
Did we care?
Not one bit.
All in all, that evening when I got home, I had a smile on my face, a muddy frisbee in one hand and a takeaway bag in the other. I call that weekend a success in my books!
Anyway, that's all from me this time. Have a great week guys! Until next time :)
