On the way there, however, it started snowing. And one of the girls in the car had come over to study from Singapore, and had never seen snow before. She got really excited, trying to take pictures of it out of the window, the hilarity of which was only heightened when you understand just how pitifully poor the snow actually was. It looked more like someone had up ended a bag of icing sugar over the edge of the road than real snow. Regardless, she was super excited to finally see snow.
When we got there, it was freezing, (naturally because, you know, snow!). Anyway, after we managed to wiggle the car into a snug parking space and performed all the necessary acrobatics in order to actually extract ourselves from the car, we hurried over (ten minutes late) to the training session, quietly (okay maybe not so quietly) complaining about the state of the weather as we went. We pulled on our football boots and got to playing, running around in order to keep from freezing to the spot.
The training session was a complete blast! The wind was playing tricks on all of the throws, so there was a lot of yelling 'heads!' and people dropping to the ground unsure which direction the flying plastic disc was coming in. When it got to lunch time, it was just too cold to sit around outside and eat, so the five of us all went and got back inside Captain's car, munching on our sandwiches as we tried to warm ourselves. up
And then Frozen came on our captain's shuffle playlist! And that was it, the five of us were off. The sound was turned up and the five of us (I was the youngest at nineteen remember) singing our absolute loudest along with the very talented Idina. At one point we had pulled up at a red light, and we were getting some very weird looks from people around us - clearly we were being loud enough for the noise to not only leave our car, but compete with their own music as well.
Did we care?
Not one bit.
All in all, that evening when I got home, I had a smile on my face, a muddy frisbee in one hand and a takeaway bag in the other. I call that weekend a success in my books!
Anyway, that's all from me this time. Have a great week guys! Until next time :)
