Hi King fans!
As many authors probably do, I carry around a little note book. It goes with me everywhere. To lectures, to evenings out, even to the supermarket. I call it my Idea Book or my IB. In there is where I put all of my random story ideas or snippets of inspiration that come to me in the most unusual of places
I get inspiration from lots of random places. In the frozen food section of the supermarket. In the doctor's surgery waiting for a blood test. One of the stranger places was my younger brother's sports day, which is when the idea of Thief Underground was born!
My Idea Book is pretty much a life saver, particularly for when I get that all-dreaded writers block. I just flick through my various ideas, scribbles and random thoughts until I find something that clicks. So to all of my fellow writers out there, if you don't have an idea book I would highly recommend that you get one.
It doesn't have to be anything particularly special looking. Everyone's Idea Book is individual to the writer. Some prefer neatly laid out bullet points and bright colours.
