So, before we start, I wanted to just thank you guys for all of your support and contact that I've had. My last post was about Halloween costumes, and I have had an amazing response from people who liked it, asking for more posts along those lines and about student/university life. I am working on that for you guys, I promise. So there is that to look forward too.
This month is NaNoWriMo, otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month! I just wanted to give a shout out to this. I think it's a wonderful idea. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel inside a month!
Yes. Really. In one month.
Now, I know that this is coming a little late to you guys, considering today is the 11th, but I still wanted to share this with you, it's never too late to give it a go. Below is the website address for the organization that runs NaNoWriMo, just in case any of you are interested and wanted to have a look. It's a completely non-profit organization to try an encourage everyone, of all ages, to write.
The 50,00 words that you write don't have to be perfect. The idea is to try and get people past the inner perfectionist and get that first draft done. Then it's a lot easier to go back and edit. On top of that, lots of people have an idea for a book but don't know where to start. Or they start but get stuck - writer's block is a huge problem! NaNoWriMo has lots of tools available to help people get past these issues and reach their targets. They also have pep talks from lots of different authors in lots of different genres to help inspire you to finish this mountain of a challenge.
So guys, let me know if you decide to give this a go! I have heard amazing things about NaNoWriMo, so let me know what you think. I love to hear from you guys, just comment or send me a little note on my contact page if you would rather. I don't mind either way.
See you next time!
